This is a x star method for cooking corn - absolutely no silk - not a single thread! The corn is cooked to perfection. FANTASTIC!
06/xvi/2012
Actually, 4 minutes per ear (for 2 merely double the fourth dimension) is perfect and there is no need to flip. I have used this method for years and it works nicely.

Wasn't completely sold on this idea of cleaning and shucking corn even though I had viewed the video.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnBF6bv4Oe4&characteristic=share. The method does piece of work. After I cut the end off the wide cease of the corn, I held on to the silk terminate and shook a couple of times, and the corn slid right out of the husk, leaving behind 1 silk on one of the ears of corn. For two ears of corn, I cooked in the microwave for viii minutes on Loftier. I added butter and sea table salt. Delicious - perfect for two people!

This is my favorite mode for sweet summertime corn on the cob, unless is is then fresh I eat information technology raw off the cob. I serve mine west/fresh white bread, I similar the Nature's Own Butter Top breadstuff. Y'all can use what always, soft rolls work nicely besides, main thing is the staff of life is fresh and soft. We spread the butter on a slice of the bread and once the corn is make clean we wrap the breadstuff around the hot corn and softly coat the corn w/the butter from the bread. While we allow the corn cool for a minute or then we eat the breadstuff west/the melted butter on it. It is some kinda adept! The fresh staff of life is slightly heated from the corn and it has the salt on it...fabulous! My favorite is to use Jane's Crazy Salt.
09/01/2013
Perfect every fourth dimension! I find it's easier to cut the bottom off Earlier microwaving ... then only grab the superlative and allow the cob slide out.
06/13/2012
My Mom sent me a YouTube video of an older human making corn like this and I decided to effort it and it works just like this recipe says. The just down side is that you lot do have to cut off one of the ends, which I like to utilise equally my handle but at least I don't take to peel them anymore!
08/08/2012
Have been cookin the corn this manner for many years. Full proof method. Recommend cooking each ear of corn for 4 mins so 3 ears would have 12 mins. No need to turn but I wouldn't cook more that 4 ears of corn at one time.
08/xiv/2012
This will be my new go-to way to cook corn on the cob. Perfection. I dearest that there is no mess from the husks. I cooked 2 ears at once and cooked for v minutes. I opened i ear and thought that it needed another minute and so I popped the other one back in and it was perfect. I recollect the length of time will depend on the number of ears you microwave at one time and the wattage of your microwave. Mine is a 950 watter.
09/08/2013
I will never shuck or boil corn again! This is so piece of cake and clean and the corn is perfectly cooked!
07/15/2013
Another skeptic, converted! I cooked four ears for 12 minutes and information technology worked just like the recipe and all the previous reviewers said it would. Then cool!! Thank you for sharing this fabled way to melt and make clean corn on the cob!
06/18/2012
The method works excellent! I used the video Shearone showed me. Information technology takes 8 minutes, according to the video, and that worked well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YnBF6bv4Oe4&feature=share
03/23/2015
Information technology seems that virtually everyone is over-cooking the corn. 1 ear of corn will be done after ii minutes on loftier in the microwave. Add 1 minute for each additional ear. I have used this method and cooking times for several years and the corn comes out perfect everytime. Besides, in that location is no need to plough the corn. I have no reason to do corn whatsoever other way.
09/07/2013
I love this!!! No more than hauling out the behemothic pot to boil corn, no soaking the ears for the grill. Throw information technology in the microwave for a few minutes, chop information technology, squeeze it, butter and table salt and dig in! Sweet, juicy, no silks...a perfect summer treat. Cheers for the instruction and recipe.
06/16/2012
Wow!! All that work before doing corn without the husks is now a waste of time!! This evening my husband and I decided to endeavor it. He was skeptical and I am always up for a game changer. And then, nosotros took the two corn husks and put them in the microwave on 8 minutes, turning them one time in the process. Did the residue by the book and had a few silks on the corn, simply that was no problem to easily elevator them off of the corn. Oh my goodness the corn was soooo tender and well-baked. Absolutely astounding. And then much ameliorate than the old method which makes the corn rather squishy. Cheers for sharing this idea!!!
07/06/2014
I love, love, honey fresh corn. I boiled five ears for the family yesterday. They were wonderful. I had one ear left today and tried this microwave method. The silks came out cleanly, simply 4 minutes overcooked and dried out the kernels. I don't know if information technology was the strength of the microwave, the size of the corn, or the missing seasoning; but I'grand going dorsum to shuck and boil.
07/13/2012
This method is the gold standard! Subsequently removing the ear of corn, y'all can safely flavour and butter it and slide it back into the husk. Pop on the grill to proceed warm until serving. The video I watched recommended nuking simply ii ears at a fourth dimension for 8 mins. total time.
05/25/2014
Followed the cooking directions here and decided it needed i more infinitesimal in my microwave. Second fourth dimension around I cooked it 2 one/two minutes per side. Information technology was perfect. No silk, easy clean up and no heat added to the kitchen. Since different microwaves are different powers, you may need to experiment slightly to notice the perfect time for yours; just this is my new go-to way to cook corn on the cob.
09/07/2013
I honey this!!! No more hauling out the giant pot to boil corn, no soaking the ears for the grill. Throw it in the microwave for a few minutes, chop it, squeeze it, butter and salt and dig in! Sweet, juicy, no silks...a perfect summertime treat. Thanks for the instruction and recipe.
03/17/2015
I've been cooking corn this way for at least two years. I similar my corn tender, and so I never microwave it longer than two minutes per ear. It is and then easy to clean!
10/04/2012
dear it!
07/28/2013
This works! It really works...I have finally fifty-fifty convinced my Mom to try making corn this way....and she had to admit...It works. Makes succulent corn..fast and like shooting fish in a barrel were her words. 4 mins on high is all I needed per cob and I did not flip it. Be careful the corn is hot....grab the butter and bask!
07/11/2014
This is an awesome technique! Not only was information technology admittedly succulent--crispy tender and juicy--simply information technology was and then like shooting fish in a barrel I was dumbstruck. At that place was a side benefit for me: I unremarkably wind up with corn stuck all in my teeth. Not so this time. The whole kernels slipped right off the cob into my rima oris each fourth dimension I took a bite. My corn cob looked as if a behemothic vacuum cleaner had sucked those kernels right off the cob. Not a scrap of corn was left on that cob. My husband won't consume corn on the cob because of what remains stuck in his teeth. Bet he'll eat it now. Thanks so much for sharing this method.
03/17/2013
Where has this been all my life? 4 ears of corn cooked perfectly in 12 minutes in my 1100w microwave. I laid them side by side on the turntable, cooked for half dozen minutes, so swapped inner and outer ears for the remaining 6 minutes. The next night nosotros had 3 ears left, cooked them for 12 minutes as well, and once once again achieved perfection. What a great way to free up infinite on the grill!
03/17/2015
This really works! I first discovered it on YouTube a few years ago. Check this out ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzYtMeIFH8o. Don't give your ears of corn time to cool or information technology'll exist harder for the ears to "drop" out of the silks and shucks. I never melt fresh corn whatever other fashion now.
03/17/2015
This is the only way I ever cook my corn on the cob now. I put an ear in one of my insulated cloth tortilla warmers, nuke it for the maximum 3 min. that the tortilla warmer tin can be in the microwave for, and then put another tortilla warmer in with some other ear. The outset ear stays nice and hot while the second 1 cooks and I tin consume them consecutively, with both hot and without having to wait for the 2nd one to melt. Cheers CCARR48 for the tip on cutting the bottom of the cob off and squeezing the corn out, minus the silk. I've been using 2 potholders to grab and peel and so to remove the silk. This sounds much easier and better and I'm definitely going to endeavor information technology. This method never fails to give me crisp and tasty corn that is not waterlogged at all. Information technology's much easier and faster than boiling it, and less messy. I'll never go dorsum to boiling it again. I fifty-fifty got my brother to beginning cooking it this way. You only get much better corn this way, providing that y'all accept two crucial things to begin with: decent corn, and that you don't overcook it.
08/01/2014
Where has this recipe been all my adult life. I just had to endeavour this method, to see if it really worked. I can say that it does and I will non cook corn any other style from this day forward. Thank you then much for sharing this recipe. I'yard doing my happy-dance now.

03/17/2015
I have steamed my corn in the nuker for 35 years. I did not get the slicing the end off to work but using oven mitts to shuck it works dandy too. My 1st microwave dorsum then was big enough to cook a turkey, so I could cook more than than 4 at a time but most of these nukers now will practice only 4 at time. When you have 5 acres of corn for your back yard yous larn to do it the piece of cake way. Information technology is the best tasting corn.
09/eleven/2012
This was amazing! No turning necessary! I establish that if you let the ear sit a few minutes before squeezing, it's 100% foolproof. Thanks for the mail service!
03/31/2015

08/02/2013
It's the only way to melt corn on the cob. Having to shuck and desilk is then slow - can't imagine why anyone would desire to practise that when this method is and then much more efficient. I love to sprinkle fresh lime juice on the corn afterward it's cooked instead of butter.
07/08/2014
This is and then like shooting fish in a barrel and fast. Thanks!
ten/12/2012

I cooked i ear for just 3 minutes and xxx seconds and it came out much amend. I propose that cooking time should be adjusted to the specific microwave. Yous tin't beat the prep time (none) and make clean up.

I'll admit, I was skeptical but my corn came out perfectly and not one strand of silk on it! Delicious!
10/12/2014

06/08/2020
If you are only cooking for one or two information technology's great. However, if you lot are cooking for a oversupply or in my case a family of ten it's time consuming. Shucking corn earlier cooking is definitely unnecessary.

This was so very simple - just wonderful. I see a lot more corn on the cob in my family unit's time to come!!

I tried the suggestion of cutting off the stem cease earlier cooking, which was actually helpful- doing information technology afterward the corn is cooked is tough b/c it'southward and so hot! I tried ane ear for 4 min w/o turning, then cooked the other 3 for 9!minutes (1000 watt microwave) & let them sit down for nigh 1 minute before squeezing them out of the husks. Perfection!
07/02/2015
Proficient method. When I utilise it I remove the outer layer of husk (only any muddied parts, non the whole husk) and wrap the corn in a clammy, very lightly damped, paper towel. 2 to 2 minutes and 15 seconds per side, depending on the size of the corn.
09/04/2012

True-not a unmarried thread of silk! Side by side time, I'll try just 1 ear and see how it comes out.
